Evaluations: During the first few weeks of classes we evaluate students to
make sure they are placed in the proper classes. This procedure assures that students receive the correct training for
their age and level.
Dance attire: Students must wear proper dance
clothing for all classes. Acceptable dance attire includes leotards, tights, dance pants, fitted tops, dance shorts,
unitards and appropriate dance shoes. Tiny Tots and adults may wear anything that's comfortable and allows free
movement. Students arriving in jeans may watch class but will not be allowed to participate and baggy pants will only
be allowed in the Hip Hop or Music Video classes.
Clothing & shoes may be ordered at the studio during
the first few weeks of classes or may be purchased at Fancy Feet in Ludlow or on-line at
www.curtaincallforclass.com (Studio ID - Technique).
Classes: Due to the fact that we
limit class size, all classes are 45 minutes in length. If the enrollment in any class falls below 3 students,
the class will be reduced from 45 to 30 minutes in length but the cost will remain the same and you will not be charged a
semi-private fee.
Registration fee: Each student is charged a non-refundable
registration fee to hold their spot in class and to cover expenses not related to the actual dance instruction such as:
administrative work, newsletters, stickers, candy and parties.
Tuition:
Monthly tuition is due the 1st class of every month with an allowed grace period until the 5th. Technique's tuition
and breakdown can be viewed on the "Classes" page. Tuition payments should be deposited in the mailbox located
in the waiting area of Studio A. If tuition isn't received by the 5th, a $5.00 late fee will be applied to your account.
This fee will increase to $10.00 if tuition isn't received by the 10th. Exceptions will be made for unforeseen circumstances
that are brought to the Director's attention. A $20.00 fee will be charged for returned checks.
Newsletters
will be given to each student the first class of each month and will be posted on the studio bulletin boards as well as on
this website. These newsletters contain important information regarding schedule changes, cancellations, holiday closings
and special events. If your child doesn't bring home a newsletter, please come into the studio and pick one up or pull
up the info located on the newsletter page of this website..
Costume deposits:
$20.00 deposits per costume are due with the October tuition payment. Costume photos will be shown in the beginning
of December and costume balances will be due by January 1st.
Missed classes:
Classes that are missed can be made up during another regularly scheduled class. Ask your instructor for the times of
other classes that would be appropriate for you.
Cancelled classes: Classes
that are cancelled due to weather or instructor conflicts will be rescheduled. The instructor will discuss options with
each class and schedule a time that's convenient for everyone involved.
Fundraisers:
Technique will offer a costume fundraiser in October to help defray costume costs. This is NOT mandatory.
If you want to participate, you must sign up at the studio and all profits from sales will go towards your costumes.
Any additional profits will be applied to tuition.
We also have a Performance fundraiser around Easter
to help defray performance costs. All profits go toward recital expenses which are not covered by monthly tuition.
Once again, this is NOT mandatory. However, if you decide not to participate, you are required to pay a $25.00 performance
fee per student.
Please Note: Class routines usually begin in January
so please make any class changes or withdrawals by December 15th. We ask this as a courtesy to the instructor and the
other students in class. If you decide to withdraw after January 1st, you are obligated to pay the full yearly
tuition. We do limit the number of students in each class and we stop taking new students in January so
your child's spot in class must be paid for regardlesss if they finish.
Private and Semi-Private
classes are always available as well as troupe solos, duets and trios. Please check with the Director
for schedule and rates.
Conventions, Workshops and Broadway show trips will be offered
throughout the year and we will notify you in our monthly newsletters.
